In my opinion the 'key word' to describe the TT, the whole package exudes atmosphere, there is no motor racing event in the world that compares. There was so much happening in addition to the actual TT Races.
MY FIRST MORNING ON GLENCRUTCHERY ROAD: My first morning on the Isle of Man, mandated a trip to the TT Pit Area and Glencrutchery Road 'just to check how things were going'. This is the permanent installation adjacent the TT Grandstand, there is so much motorcycling history, read 'atmosphere' here!
IAN HUTCHINSON AND THE ARAI SUITE: I attended the unveiling of a plaque at the Joey Dunlop Home, Braddan Bridge. The unveiling duties were bestowed on none other than Ian Hutchinson, I was delighted to meet Ian, a thorough gentleman and winner of all five (5) ICE Solo race classes at TT2010. Arai are assisting the Joey Dunlop Foundation by sponsoring one of the many rooms in the Home which offers long term convalescence.
LAXEY WOOLLEN MILLS, LAXEY - TT PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION:
PEEL IN MOTION: Motorcycle displays, amusement rides, fun fairs, it was all happening at Peel on Mad Sunday.
MONSTER ENERGY: The Monster Energy Girls were at Peel, the rostrum and pit area, you get the picture. Then there was the 'truck'!
SUBARU, THE OFFICIAL CAR PARTNER: Subaru provided the Officials Cars and a rally prepared car for the 'Subaru Demonstration Lap', a timed lap of the TT Course.
PEOPLE THAT I MET: Current TT Racers and Mechanics aside, (for a moment), I was delighted to meet the following people, in Ian's case for the third year in succession. Let's just clarify a little bit of TT history with regard to Mr Ian Anthony-Huntly, next year, TT2012, will be the 65th anniversary year of Ian's unbroken attendance at the Isle of Man TT Races, a staggering commitment to any sport.
THE EATERIES: There are no problems with food at the TT!
TT GOODIES: Memorabilia, there's always a fantastic array of TT Goodies to commemorate my visit each year. The staff, they are so easy to get along with, great times.
FUNNY PICS: Just a few fun images on my travels around the circuit and pits.
THE VULCAN FLYPAST: Hectic, I completed my Senior TT Podium photography and 'somehow' made it to Douglas Bay just in time for the 'delayed' Vulcan Bomber flypast.
