THE TASMAN REVIVAL, 2012 - VINTAGE AND PVT: Pre 1960 racing, this category includes Group L Racing Cars, Group L Sports Cars, Invited Group M, O & Sports Cars and Invited Group Sa Sports Cars. Marques including Austin-Healey, Cooper, Lister Jaguar, MG and Sunbeam ensured a variety of competitors, I was particularly attracted to a 1951 Cooper Norton powered racer:
THE PITS: A selection of my images from the Vintage and PVT Pit Garages: #28: 1951 COOPER NORTON Mk V: The fist Cooper Manx in Australia, built in 1951 the car was the 4th constructed from a total of 51. Powered by a 500cc Norton single cylinder engine running on methanol and driving through a four speed close ration Norton gearbox.
#79: 1953 'WAYE 500' JAP 500 SPRINT/HILLCLIMB CAR: Displayed at the Tasman Revival, the 'Waye 500' is owned by #28: Andrew Halliday. Powered by a JAP Speedway 500cc single cylinder engine driving through a Norton gearbox.
