THE TASMAN REVIVAL, 2012 - ATMOSPHERE: There was no shortage of atmosphere at the Tasman, enhanced by the Circuit upgrades. My walks around the Pits uncovered considerable activity, mainly the rebuilding of gearboxes in the more powerful cars and some very delicate work on Radiator cores to improve cooling.
SYDNEY MOTORSPORT PARK: The Eastern Creek Raceway was renamed to the Sydney Motorsport Park (SMP) prior to the Tasman Revival. There was more than a name change however, additions to the circuit allowed for multiple track options and a significant change in the overall appearance of the Tower and Pit Facilities all served to enhance the Meeting.
PIT WALKS - ATMOSPHERE: Selected machinery.
PIT WALKS - MY CAR OF THE MEETING: Unquestionably it had to be the #2: 1958 Lister Jaguar Monzapolis. Beautifully presented, powered by a 3,800cc six cylinder engine.
PIT WALKS - MISCELLANEOUS:
WIL HAGON: Marvellous commentary, manner and background knowledge, my first appreciation of this man's unquestionable talent was at the Castrol Six Hour Motorcycle Race Series at Amaroo Park, nothing has changed, a thorough Gentleman, a pleasure to meet.
