A wide variety of sidecars contested the four separate races however the final five lap race provided some of the best dicing between Doug Chivas/Matthew McKinnon (Yamaha TZ750 power) and Barry Horner/Chris Dinuzzo (Irving Vincent 1300 power). The Chivo's Motorcycle Tyre entry won the overall Sidecar event, however the sound of that highly tuned Irving Vincent attracted a lot of attention.
SIDECAR PIT IMAGES: Selected images from the sidecar pit garages. From a technology perspective many of the sidecars were definitely not overshadowed by their solo counterparts. #888: BARRY HORNER/CHRIS DINUZZO - 1978 IRVING VINCENT SIDECAR 1,300cc: As if the solo Irving Vincent's weren't enough, the team's sidecar is also a work of art, great stuff.
#4: BRUCE COLLINS/PETER DeANGELIS - 1972 SUZUKI IRESON 750cc: A 'waterbottle' power plant, the mechanicals of this machine are again, a work of art.
SIDECAR RACE IMAGES: A selection of race images including the start and finish of race 4.
SIDECAR 'EXPRESSIONS': Some interesting 'expressions' captured, drivers generally appear very determined, passengers on the other hand appear, you be the judge...
SIDECAR 'TRACK INSPECTION': They cannot get much closer...
SIDECAR 'CHEQUER': At the completion of race 4, #12: Doug Chivas/Matthew McKinnon crossed the finish line with a handy lead of 9.273 seconds over #888: Barry Horner/Chris Dinuzzo.
