SUPERCAR CENTRAL: A selection of the supercars displayed at the Concourse.
McLAREN SLR - STIRLING MOSS: Category: Supercar Central: According to a Mercedes Benz press release the SLR - Stirling Moss is based on the SLR Roadster however the bodywork is carbon fibre wrapped around an SLR-722 derived 478kW/650bhp supercharged 5.5 litre V8 which is mated to a five speed automatic gearbox. The car is capable of 350kmh and has a 0/100kmh time of 3.5 seconds. That is seriously fast for a car that has no roof and precious little windscreen. Incredibly Sir Stirling Moss admitted during an interview at the Concourse that he had never driven an SLR-Stirling Moss!
McLAREN SLR-722 GT - LINFOX: Category: Staggering: Exhibited adjacent 'Supercar Central' this 'less than discrete' Mercedes/McLaren SLR attracted a great deal of attention!
2008 DEVAUX SPYDER: Category: Supercar Central: Devaux cars are considered art on wheels, taking their stying cues from 1930's France. The RHS steel chassis has a body constructed of hand laminated GRP for lightness. The car is powered by a DV1 alloy V8 350 cdi engine driving through a four speed automatic transmission.
2010 MORGAN AERO SUPERSPORTS: Category: Supercar Central: The Morgan Car Company can now claim to be the oldest and largest British owned car company. From 1936 onward the mainstay of the companies production were cars built on a dedicated steel chassis with a coach built wooden cockpit frame covered with aluminium. This car is a complete departure, incorporating an all aluminium frame and body housing a BMW 4.8 litre V8 engine developing 270kW.
