Commem Air Museum

THE COMMEMORATIVE AIR FORCE MUSEUM, SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: The word Museum was somewhat inappropriate, the Commemorative Air Force Hangar, Exhibits and flight certified Aircraft are truly magnificent, all the aircraft are in beautiful condition and the Pilots perform various displays throughout the year.

I must mention the Team at the CAF, San Marcos, so approachable, friendly and they gave me free rein to photograph their magnificent Aircraft Collection and facilities. Totally stoked, I thoroughly recommend visiting the CAF!

AIRCRAFT EXHIBITS: Every Aircraft in the collection is in top condition, most if not all appear to be flight certified. The Hangar is huge and it needs to be, a beautiful example of a B25 Mitchell Bomber demands respect and some decent clearance!

HARVARD AT-6 RED TAIL:

HARVARD - 'TORA KATE REPLICA': The Tora Kate Replica was built for the Movie 'Tora Tora Tora', the Replica incorporates a Harvard 'AT-6' airframe which was modified to incorporate the three seat cockpit and the tail was replaced by a 'BT-13' type all to achieve a semblance of a B5M KATE. This aircraft was used in two Movies, 'Tora Tora Tora' and 'Pearl Harbour'.
